BATT2BLACK consists of two perfectly coordinated units: a mobile vacuum drying system and a black mass recovery system. Both components are housed in roadworthy 30-foot containers that can be connected in just a few simple steps. This creates a compact system that can be easily installed at almost any location – whether it’s a recycling plant, logistics centre or collection point.

The plug-and-play concept from BATT2BLACK means: set up, connect, start. The modules are connected via a robust tubular chain conveyor in a gas- and dust-tight manner; no external infrastructure is required. From small consumer batteries to complete electric vehicle modules such as the Tesla Model S, a wide variety of battery systems can be processed without complex pre-treatment. Thanks to its modular design, the line can be expanded as demand increases, while the closed system ensures maximum safety for people and the environment.

Features
The mobile 30-foot unit is delivered fully assembled, connected and ready for immediate use – without time-consuming installation.
Four-shaft shredders and vacuum dryers operate in a closed process chamber, safely shredding the batteries and drying them under vacuum.
A gas- and dust-tight system with vacuum pump, condensers and activated carbon filter prevents the escape of pollutants and protects personnel and the environment.
THE DESIGN
The design of the mobile vacuum drying system combines all the essential process steps in a compact, transportable module: the lifting and tilting system is used to safely place the batteries in the BACS main unit, where they are pre-shredded in inert gas or vacuum and gently dried. An integrated pipe chain conveyor then empties the dry material in a dust- and gas-tight manner. The resulting electrolyte vapours are extracted by a powerful vacuum pump and recaptured via condensation coolers, activated carbon filters and a separate electrolyte tank.
A central control cabinet is available for the entire plant control system; the nitrogen generator, compressed air compressor and cooling units are integrated into the housing to save space. The result is a closed system that combines high process reliability with minimal energy consumption and is quickly ready for use on site.

FEATURES
The patented impact reactor system with deflector wheel separates the electrode coatings so efficiently that over 98% of black mass is recovered and purity reaches up to 99%.
Cyclone, sluice filter and clean air fan remove dust and gas in accordance with ATEX, ensuring that no hazardous emissions escape.
The robust, gas- and dust-tight construction with explosion protection minimises any risk – for operators and the environment.
The Design
The modular design of the mobile black mass recovery system combines all the necessary components in a compact unit. A feed screw with buffer conveys the pre-crushed and dried material into the impact reactor, where a special deflector wheel separates the black mass from the metal foils.
A flushing and cooling air blower and a pressure shock-decoupled pipeline then transport the dusty material to a cyclone and a downstream filter, where the black mass is separated and collected in a collection container, while coarse residues are discharged into a separate container. The integrated control cabinet controls all processes, and explosion pressure decoupling and relief ensure maximum safety.
